Alice in Zombieland (The White Rabbit Chronicles, #1)Date Published: September 25, 2012

She won’t rest until she’s sent every walking corpse back to its grave. Forever.Had anyone told Alice Bell that her entire life would change course between one heartbeat and the next, she would have laughed. From blissful to tragic, innocent to ruined? Please. But that’s all it took. One heartbeat. A blink, a breath, a second, and everything she knew and loved was gone.
Her father was right. The monsters are real….
To avenge her family, Ali must learn to fight the undead. To survive, she must learn to trust the baddest of the bad boys, Cole Holland. But Cole has secrets of his own, and if Ali isn’t careful, those secrets might just prove to be more dangerous than the zombies….
I wish I could go back and do a thousand things differently.
I'd tell my sister no.
I'd never beg my mother to talk to my dad.
I'd zip my lips and swallow those hateful words.
Or, barring all of that, I'd hug my sister, my mom and my dad one last time.
I'd tell them I love them.
I wish... Yeah, I wish.

OHMYGOODNESSILOVEDTHISBOOK. The characters, the plot, the humor, the romance- everything was perfect. I lovelovelove Ali and her sarcasm and Cole is so sexy and Kat was perfect and zombie hunting is officially my new calling. I'm sitting here in a daze because I'm having a hard time getting out this world. This book rocked so hard. I'm tellin' ya.

So, Alice lost her family in a zombie-related car accident (which was awful and cruel because her family was flipping awesome). Seriously, we only meet them in one chapter, but I completely fell in love with her little sister and mom, and got to know her dad. That's just incredible, if you ask me. It wasn't even a long chapter or anything. Just good, quick character building. Anyways, Alice ends up in the hospital and meets this girl, Kat, who just throws herself into Ali's life and forces her to be her bff (Kat is very sure of herself). Ali ends up attending Kat's school, and meets this guy, Cole (who is supremely sexy). Eventually, Ali ends up hunting zombies and learning to fight (even though her dad taught her a lot, she had more to learn when it came to fighting things that want to eat you. weird). And then roooommmaannnceee (friggin' sexy romance. *falls on the floor* *drools over Cole Holland*). There were so many twists and turns, it just killed me. I just loved this book.

At first I was wary because I thought the title was silly, but that's a dumb reason to not read a book, am I right? Besides, the cover is adorbs. I love Alice's dress and the white frame around her. It's gorgeous. And the chapter titles are awesome. They're reminiscent of PJO chapter titles in that they're supremely funny and worth paying attention to.

Ali is an awesome character. She's tall- 5'10"- and uses it to her advantage, threatenin' people left and right to stay out of her way. Cole is super scary looking, but Ali's all "honey badger don't care" and does whatever she wants around him. She's lost so many people she cared about, yet she remains strong and fights what's right. And I think that's super cool. She also doesn't constantly fall into a puddle of drool at Cole's feet like I totally would. She's strong, she's independent, she's cool, and I just really like her. I would totally be BFFs with her. She can also hold her own in a fight, so I'd totally want her on my side. Which wouldn't be a problem if we were friends, because she's super loyal. Basically, I love Ali.

And her best friend, Kat, rocks my socks. She's small, she's confident (maybe egotistical, but it's cute), she's funny (like peemypants funny)- she too is super cool. She's off-again-on-again with Cole's best friend Frosty (I do so hope we learn his real name in Through the Zombie Glass). And she doesn't swear. At all. Actually, no one in the book does. While I'm certainly not against swearing in books, the fact that these guys didn't made them seem even more hardcore. They had a certain level of class, all of them did, that was cool. Back to Kat- I just want an entire book about her- well only if we get to see Cole and Ali in it too....

And lastly, Cole. Mr. Sexy himself. He's super tall, with dark hair, violet eyes, tats, and scars. Basically sex personified if you feel me, you feel me, right? He's tough as nails and yet there is a kindness to him that softens his toughness. He takes care of Ali a lot. He makes a lot of mistakes, too, but that's human nature, right? I'm seriously swooning here. He's got this group of friends that he would die for, and they would all die for him. *grabby hands* I want me a Cole.

So, basically this book rocked my socks. I'm sitting here contemplating my existence over a sarcastically funny, interestingly titled book about zombie hunting. That's gotta mean it's good, right? Right. Since we agreed there, you should go read it. And then come back and swoon over Cole Holland with me. This is definitely one of my new favorite books.
